Students practiced labeling and explored the differences between veins and arteries by comparing and contrasting how they work in the body. Hands-on learning like this helps build a strong foundation for future healthcare pathways!

Mr. Dillon keeps his sixth graders actively engaged with a multi-faceted lesson designed to strengthen their math skills and confidence. His instruction weaves together reciprocal teaching, modeling, fluency reviews, guided and independent practice, and collaborative pair work at the whiteboards. Eighth graders are wrapping up the fourth phase of their book study project! 📚Phase 1: Students analyzed song lyrics and chose a "lead single" that connects to the novel. 📚Phase 2: Students built a full soundtrack of five songs tied to characters, struggles, and events. 📚Phase 3: They wrote music-blogger style reviews linking quotes from the text to song lyrics. 📚Phase 4: Students are creating presentations (digital slideshow, physical display, or video pitch) to share their soundtracks.
