🌟 Today we celebrate Custodian Appreciation Day! 🌟
Our custodians are the heart of our school—keeping our building safe, clean, and welcoming every single day. From early mornings to late evenings, they work behind the scenes to make sure students and staff have the best environment to learn and grow.
💙 Thank you for all you do, for your hard work, dedication, and care for our school family. We couldn’t do it without you

We’re so lucky to have you!
Here's to your first School Principals Month!

Our students had a wonderful time at our Book Tasting event!
📚 Grades 1–5 sampled a variety of books and ended their “tasting” with a sweet treat.
🍪 Pre-K and Kindergarten students enjoyed a lively read-aloud of The Gingerbread Girl Goes Animal Crackers and were delighted with animal crackers to go along with the story.
It was a fun way to celebrate reading and spark excitement for books across all grade levels!
Thank you to our Media Specialist, Mrs. Fowler, for continuing to shine a light on literacy at WCPES!

Today in 1st-grade math, students unlocked the magic number 10! ✨
Using manipulatives and the tens frame, they used critical thinking to make math come alive. The ‘oh’s' and ‘I get it now!’ moments show just how much fun learning can be!

On IT Professionals Day, we're certain we couldn't do "IT" without the knowledge, skill, and minds of Mr. Burton and Mr. Holton!
We appreciate the hard work you do, not just on the day that the calendar has set aside, but every day! Without a doubt, we are well-connected in the hands of our IT Professionals! 💻

As part of our Readers Make Leaders initiative, some of the high school football players and Coach stopped by to read to Ms. Overton’s 1st grade class. The students loved having these role models share a story with them—what a great way to show that readers truly make leaders!

Our students are seemingly enjoying the "E" for engineering in S.T.R.E.A.M in our afterschool program.
The program allows time for homework help, the exploration of different engineering and technology, as well as art, reading, and mathematics!

Today, Wilkinson County Schools joins the nation in remembering and honoring the lives lost on September 11, 2001. We also recognize the bravery of first responders, the strength of families, and the resilience of communities who carried our country forward.
We pause to reflect on the values of unity, service, and courage. These are reminders of the importance of standing together. May we never forget.

We want to send a huge THANK YOU to our school nurses, Ms. Riddle and Mrs. Reese, for taking the time to introduce themselves and the functions of their office to our students. Our students and staff members are fortunate to have knowledgeable medical staff right at our fingertips, just a door knock away.
We are equally thankful for our school counselor, Ms. Lamar, who has informed our students of her open-door policy as she explained the roles and responsibilities of a school counselor.
